Site Rules
Please read these rules to ensure you know what is and isn't allowed on Leopets. You are responsible for staying up to date with the rules, and the Leopets Admin Team reserves the right to change these rules at any time.

Legal
General
- The promotion of or sharing of illegal activity is forbidden on Leopets.
- Users may not solicit or offer legal, or medical, or otherwise professional services unrelated to Leopets outside of "friendly advice" clearly labeled as such.
- Users may not threaten or otherwise state the intent to commit unlawful activity on Leopets.
Personal Information
- An individual must be 13+ years of age to use Leopets.
- Users under the age of 18 may not share identifying personal information on Leopets. This includes full name(s), realistic depictions of the user's face, home address(es), phone number(s), etc.
- Users ages 18+ may share identifying personal information on Leopets to their own discretion.
- Users may not share the identifying personal information of other users on Leopets.
Gameplay
Your Account
- Strictly ONE account per person.
- All information provided by a user on their application and through their account must be accurate to the best of the user's ability.
- All user stats and account information must be visible and accessible on userlookups.
- Account sharing is not allowed. All accounts involved may be banned.
Economy
- Users may not purposefully exploit, or "scam" other users when conducting business.
- Users may not buy, sell, or otherwise trade pets, items, leopoints, etc for real-life currency.
- Personal transactions involving real-life currency must be initiated and conducted offsite.
- Users may not exploit bugs or other systematic flaws in order to gain currency, items, or pets. Report privately to an admin for a Bug Bounty reward!
Pets
- Do not flood/spam the pound with pets.
Creative/Intellectual Property
- Once you submit art or other content to the site and it is accepted, the content belongs to Leopets. You may not stipulate how it is used or who gets to benefit from it. Once it is accepted we retain full rights to it even if you leave the site, and it will only ever be removed under extreme circumstances at admin discretion.
- Creators may offer commissions of their work on the site. You may only accept Leopoints or Leopets items in exchange for commissions. Commissions involving real-life currency must be initiated and conducted offsite.
- You may not advertise real-life currency commissions unless you are also offering Leopoints commissions.
- Commissions must meet Communication section guidelines.
Communication
Leopets aims to be a chill, fun and relaxing place for people to get away from the world. As such, some topics and behaviors are not allowed or are limited onsite.Onsite
Forbidden
- Explicit depictions of sexual acts in any form
- Any deliberately disturbing violent content, e.g. gore
- The use of slurs and other forms of hate speech
- Excessive strong language
- Spam directed at boards or leomails
- Harassment or offensive comments directed at other users of Leopets.
- Excluding users from user-hosted community events.
- Deep discussion of controversial/difficult topics, e.g. politics (exception: Rants and Raves board with NSFW tag)
NSFW
This content should be tagged with the warning "NSFW" anywhere onsite.- References to legal sexual acts - they must be brief and non-explicit
- Images depicting uncovered breasts and/or buttocks
- References to alcohol consumption and alcoholic intoxication
- References to addiction, relapse, recovery, etc
- Passing references to controversial/difficult topics, e.g. politics
Acceptable
Offsite
In general, we do not police offsite behavior. However, there are some exceptions to this. This is a subjective measure that will be used to evaluate users on a case-by-case basis. If a user is found guilty, they will be banned.- Users found to be cheaters, severe trolls, or otherwise frequently banned on other websites
- Users found to be admitting to breaking site rules offsite
- Bullying, harassment, doxxing, etc of anyone, especially of Leopets users
- Taking screenshots or otherwise sharing what others post off site. Information of any type shared onsite is considered private.
- Attempts to sabotage, hack, or harm the reputation of Leopets.net
Dispute Policy
Between users
Our community is extremely small. We do not have a block feature since cliques have ostracized users onsite in the past.
If you don't want someone to interact with you, but they have broken no rules, please message an admin. If your request is reasonable, we will ask that person not to interact with you and that person will be considered to have broken the rules unless they comply. We reserve the right to reverse this ruling if we detect abuse.
Between users and staff
Sometimes, users may be unhappy with a staff decision. We don't expect everyone to agree with our choices, but we do require that people respect them. We do our best to be fair and address concerns, but we can't please everybody. If a difference between staff and users is causing harm to the community that we cannot otherwise resolve, we reserve the right to remove such users from the community.
Bans
In the event that a user breaks a rule, an admin will review the situation and determine the consequence and its severity. Typically, depending on the user's history, a user will be warned before they are temporarily banned, and temporarily banned before they are permanently banned. However, a user may be banned for any length of time, for any reason, at the discretion of an admin, as all admins reserve the right to remove a user from the community at will.
